The Armed Citizen

Thank you for your interest in my site The Armed Citizen.  I believe that all law-abiding Americans have the right to own firearms for lawful purposes.  This right is traditional and essential to a free society, but with this right comes the responsibility of the gun owner to use the firearm in such a way as to protect his own safety and the safety of others, especially children.  A firearm, when used in a safe and responsible manner, is a great source of pleasure and represents a fundamental part of our personal liberty guaranteed by our United States Constitution.

This site is made to help those who have decided to carry a weapon for their job or for protection from things around them.   The first thing we need to cover is why.   For many it is their job to carry one which makes them uneasy in the off duty hours for the same person that they arrested may now see them with their spouse and children.   In that case if action is needed you have that option at hand.   For those that carry as a choice you have many options at hand.  First if you carry with a permit you want a weapon that you can use well and understand how to function the safety if it has one as well as reloading especially under pressure this goes for the one that wants to carry without going through the permit process.   Next you want to have a comfortable holster that you can wear for at least eight hours in all kind of conditions.    The final thing you need to look at how you want to dress or need to dress.   You want comfort as well as being able to cover your firearm commonly called a "cover" or shirt or sweater or jacket.
